An academic scholarship program for refugee students in Greece

Education Unites was established in 2017 through a partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Athens to provide a path for refugee students in Greece to start or continue their undergraduate or graduate education at The American College of Greece. The collaborative scholarship program promotes the shared Greek and American values of democracy, generosity, and respect for human dignity.

The goal of the program is to offer hope for the future by providing educational opportunities for refugee, migrant, and displaced students to gain the knowledge, skills, and academic credits necessary to build a successful career in Greece or in any other European country.

Education Unites students reflect the diversity of the refugee population in Athens, coming from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, and other parts of the Middle East, as well as many countries in Africa and, more recently, Ukraine.

Students can pursue studies in their chosen program of study and have full access to all offices and programs at ACG, including personalized academic advising and counseling, school clubs and activities, top-notch facilities, career services, and on-campus jobs.

Education Unites students follow ACG’s regular application process and must meet the same admission requirements.
