Emmanuel Skoulas is an Assistant Professor of Communication and International Relations at The American College of Greece. He has been a fellow of the Academy of Athens and the Onassis Foundation. He has served in the Greek public sector and taught at major US and Greek higher education institutions. He has also published articles on Public Relations and the Media, as well as two policy guides on the Integration of Gender in the Local Public Policies in Greece. He has also undertaken many projects in the context of EU policies and regulations on social issues such as migrant’s integration, human trafficking, local public administration and gender. His most recent publication includes a book chapter in the Communication of the Hellenic Police (1984-2002), which will be included in the book Histories of Public Relations by Routledge. His research interests include Media, Global Communication, Public Relations, and public affairs, specifically focusing on security, terrorism, political violence, and minority groups (such as ethnic groups and refugees). Recently (July 2024), he was appointed as an expert by the EU on research projects funded by the Horizon Program on Civil Security.
